The Nowhere Orchestra
Who are we?
The Nowhere Orchestra is a pop/rock/funk/jazz/caribbean band based in Gothenburg, Sweden composed of Erasmus (exchange) students in Gothenburg from around the world. It is a band in which members come and go according to their studies and thus the music changes depending on the members at that time. The recordings available on this page come from Spring Semester 2009.
Please note:
This was the first band that I played drumset for, so please excuse all of the mistakes and timing issues. The recordings that are on this site were captured by my voice recorder and the balance isn't the best since the recorder was always right next to me, but hopefully what you hear can give you an idea of what we sound like. It's a unique sound that will never be created in the same way by the same people again. (Well, it's like a 1:1,000,000 chance).

Musical Credits and Inspirations:
All of the songs posted here are original compositions. Most of the songs that we play were written mostly by our guitarists Florian or Julian. The song 'Lifejacket' comes from a solo project of Florian’s in which he is called Lyla Sten. The song 'Your Eyes' is a piece that belongs to Julian.
We come from varied musical backgrounds and have all brought out own flavors to the sound of this group. Some credits I would like to give are first to God for giving me this wonderful opportunity, then to Tommy Igoe and his chart of Groove Essentials as they helped me tremendously with my drumming and to Dave Reeves for his abounding talent in performance and teaching. Dave, you have always been a huge inspiration to me and I’m actually quite embarrassed for you to listen to me play drum-set. :P

In rehearsal... (March-May 2009)
Here are some recordings I made with my voice recorder of the Nowhere Orchestra in rehearsal. The balance is not too bad since we were indoors and had mics and amplifiers. The music is a bit sketchy (in an artsy sort of way though) since these were rehearsals, of course. Enjoy the rawness! =)

Live at Vårfesten! (5.16.2009)
Here are some recordings I made with my voice recorder at Vårfesten! Sorry, but these recordings are really drum-heavy because I had the recorder right next to me. Furthermore, this was our first concert and it was held outside and it was very cold, so please excuse all of the mistakes and the tempo going so fast! We were afraid it was going to rain... but that's really no excuse either. :P
