This list is a collection of quotes that I have acquired over the years that have become deeply rooted in my foundation as a person.

1 Timothy 4:11-16
11
Command and teach these things. 12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.
14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you.  15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

"Rather than be discouraged, always remember that rejection and resistance are almost guaranteed when you are doing something very important and very special.  When you set out to live your dreams, lots of people (including those who love you the most) will try to hold you back."

"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."

I never know what to say when people ask me what I'm doing over the summer.  I always forget all of the interesting things I'm doing and I end up saying I'll just be hanging around and then going home for a little bit.  To remind myself what I am doing, I think I'll compile a list.

~ Working on improving my flamenco guitar ability.  (Namely being able to play barre chords that stem from A with my tiny little hands).

~ Arranging latin charts for the UW Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble.

~ Playing snare drum for an instructional DVD that will be distributed in Japan.

~ Get my study abroad things in order, which means a lot of paperwork.

~ Create/Work on my parents' New York Teriyaki website.

~ Listening to more of the Mandarin Chinese conversational audio series that I've been meaning to get through for the past 2 years.

~Learning Russian (and the Cyrillic alphabet)

~ Finish up my Swedish Plural formation project to include all five noun declensions.

~Working as a Conversational Speech Annotator for a study run by the Signal, Speech, and Language Interpretation Lab in the Electrical Engineering department of UW.
